Stephen C. Steele, an expert in family law, joined Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele in 1987, where he currently serves as one of four founding partners. Mr. Steele’s work in divorce, property division, support, and custody issues earned him a reputation as one of the state’s leading attorneys in the practice of family law.
- Served as Chairman of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia from 2005-2006. During that term, Mr. Steele served on legislative subcommittees and study groups to help implement new Child Support Guidelines which became effective on 1/1/2007. The Family Law Section was recognized as Section of the Year during Steve Steele’s term.
- Recognized by colleagues as one of Georgia’s “Super Lawyers”, as published in Atlanta Magazine, from 2007 – 2010, an honor given only to the top 5% of lawyers in each state.

Mr. Steele’s extensive trial experience in both civil and criminal matters has ranged from divorce and domestic relations trials, to franchise litigation, construction litigation, and to complex and lengthy violent crimes and white collar crimes. His knowledge and experience in the litigation of complex matters has proven to be of great value in complicated family law cases.
Steve Steele is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1978. He served as an Assistant Solicitor in the State Court of Cobb County, and later served as the Assistant District Attorney in the Cobb Judicial Circuit. He currently teaches Paralegal Civil Litigation at Kennesaw State University. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Steele has focused his practice almost exclusively upon Family Law.
Mr. Steele resides in Marietta with his wife Nancy. They have two grown sons, Matthew and John Paul, and a daughter-in-law, Ashley, who is married to Matthew.
